The state of Kedah has seen a total of 70 reports of dog bites as of 7th October 2015, with 4 of these cases were reported in Langkawi. We would like to advise the community to be on constant alert and in the event that any individual has been bitten by a dog, please take the following steps:
- immediately wash and clean the affected area with water and soap to remove any remaining trace of the canine’s saliva.
- head to the nearest hospital or clinic and heed to the doctors advise, you may be required to be treated with a scheduled anti-rabies vaccine injection.
